24" x 24", framed

This work depicts two boys suspended mid-air as they leap from a Boston Whaler, their joy and freedom caught in a single, weightless pause. The image, drawn from a 1960 Boston Whaler vintage catalog, evokes both nostalgia and the fleeting innocence of youth.

Painted during my pregnancy with my second son, the piece began as an exploration of timeless play but soon took on a deeper resonance. As the figures took shape, I found myself imagining the bond and adventures that await my own children. What began as a study of pause and freedom became a meditation on family, growth, and the excitement of watching these moments come to life in my own world.
