I created this series along side my 100 daily paintings. A goal within these series is to continue to grow and learn as an artist. A year ago I was so daunted by the idea of painting florals.
The nature of the raw canvas makes it very hard to get super detailed, It is loose- not stretched like a typical canvas and with minimal gesso on the canvas, it remains very textured. This combination allowed me to limit myself to detail and really focus on the core shape, values, and depth of each flower, veggie or citrus. Trimming right down to the basics- all ya need
I brought these over to my friends at the Frame center and I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome. The are matted with a solid background that has an inner mat as well creating a lovely floating frame effect. allowing the raw edges to stand out, and using the solid mat color to compliment the painting.
These are all one of a kind- no prints will be made of these
