I keep a canvas nearby to wipe excess paint from my brushes before cleaning them, reducing the amount of paint that enter my brush water. Over time, these canvases began to collect layers of color, marks, and experimentation.
I also use them as studio “warm-ups,” scribbling and playing with different mediums before settling into a painting.
